My experience with Pools by Ben in general and Alejandro (Alex) in specific has been amazing. I initially called Pools by Ben for general pool maintenance. I was lucky enough to have Alex come down and not only clean the pool and filter but also educate me on my choices for pool pumps. Purchasing a variable speed pump made so much sense that I immediately put in my order. Alex had it installed and ready to go with no problems within days. We now enjoy our pool without the constant roar of a pool pump in the background. The only evidence that I have a variable speed pump is a sparkling pool and an energy bill cut in half. I am going to suggest that my neighbors invest in a variable speed pump as well. Now that I can't hear my own pump, the blaring of their pumps has become more apparent. I will gladly and confidently refer them to Pools by Ben and to Alex. They can't go wrong.
I definitely have been saving energy and therefore money each month. I have recommended this to a friend of mine who has a pool and it remains to be seem whether he goes for it. But I'm really happy I made the decision and Pools by Ben has been great to work with. Thanks very much for all of your help.
Ben and Tim at Pools by Ben are amazing. Our pool pump was leaking and we had a home warranty. They were the contractor sent out, diagnosed the issue, then ordered the appropriate parts. Our warranty company, after a couple of weeks, realized they forgot to order the part. We had already pushed back a swimming party for my daughter one week, and here it was, Friday, with no part, and a swimming party that Saturday. Ben actually talked to the Insurance company, convinced them that the best quality work would be to replace the entire pump, and then that he would go to a local supplier to pick up the pump, and have a tech to our house Saturday morning. Plus, unlike other "Insurance" contractors who throw in bogus non-covered costs, Ben did not. The pump was installed and the quality of the work was great. I would use Pools by Ben for my non-insurance pool work, and highly recommend them to anyone in the LA area for service and repair.
My new pump was installed about two weeks ago. I requested some changes and had some unique programming and wiring requests. Ben and Tim unhesitatingly made three separate trips to accomodate my requests.The pump is now working as advertised; my pool sparkles.

Ben did a fantastic job with the installation of a new programmable pump plus a solar panel control. My electric bill has decreased about $50 every month but that is not all! The pump is much quieter so we can have easy-going pool side chats without competing with a whining pump. Also, the pool is cleaner because of the low flow filtering that increases the efficiency of the filter. The service by Ben and his crew has been excellent. With the installation costs covered by rebates and the $20/month plan, how can anyone continue with their old pump?
You guys Rock! I have to say I was skeptical at first, but after my first Edison bill arrived after installing the new pump, I was happy. Now that I've had several months with the same great savings, I'm thrilled. I have literally seen my bill cut in half! The added benefit...a cleaner pool!
The monthly savings with the variable speed pump has been huge. We have seen $100 savings per month on our last two bills. The installation was quick and clean. Everything works great.
